The Great Expanse
Beyond the Realm of Tirn Aill to the east is the vast Desert of the Demonkin. Or as it is better known, The Great Expanse. A wasteland where no living thing can naturally survive, the expanse is the source of the world’s monstrous invaders. The major concern of Tirn Aill’s people is that the expanse will continue to gain new territory, and the realm will be lost to the harsh, unforgiving sands.
Before arriving in Tirn Aill, the Orcish people called the desert of the demonkin home. A hard and violent life that well suited the nature of the warrior people. Many orcs still think highly of life in the desert, and the closer to the Expanse one goes, the more orcish settlements you should expect to find. Many young orcs often feel a calling to fight against the front of monsters that erupt from the wasteland, and for this humans hold them in very high regards.
Among the most civilized of Tirn Aill’s societies, the Elves are the only ones to still call the desert home. Though many others would argue over how civilized one could call the Elves because of this. A nomadic and seclusive lifestyle along with close ties and trading traditions with the orcs are the only things that keep Elves welcome among Tirn Aill’s more common folk
